odd and even activities for kids
Odd and even is one of the essential math concepts, and we can make it more interesting for kids with more hands-on activities. Always allow the child to learn anything and everything with their daily routine. Kids love to study and understand the concept very soon if incorporated with their day-to-day life. They can relate and apply their learning in every single experience they come across. We have explored the odd and even concept in the same way, and my kid has understood it very soon.
Activity-1 for odd and even
I have introduced the concept with a conversation as “If a person/count/number has a friend it is even. If it doesn’t have a friend then it is odd. We can call it as pair as well, but kids can understand the word friend very much. This is very simple activity for odd and even concept.

- Ask the child to count and arrange any loose particles from 1 to 10( we can keep till 5 too) based on child's interest
- After arranging, we can split the loose particles them into pairs (count of 2).
- Ask the child to check number 1- whether it has a pair or it is left out. If it is left out, then it is an odd number. In the same way number 2. It has a pair , so 2 is an even number. In the same way for other numbers as well.
- We can call the pair as friends too , so the kids can easily connect. Number 1 doesn't have a friend, so it is an odd number. In the same way for other numbers as well

- We can use our body parts to explain the concept very well
- Fingers are best to understand it. Here i am showing five and two. So she can apply the friend concept and say 5 doesn't have a pair , so it is odd number etc.
