Hand-made valentine's day cards
Child led Valentine’s Day card -Process art
As valentine’s day is approaching, we have planned to prepare cards for her school friends. I always believe in process art and try not to guide her in any artwork she do.Even the same happened yesterday too. As we dedicate our evening to craft making, she picked up all the materials from our craft area and prepared her own working space without my help.
She has selected her friend’s favorite color and prepared each card. The whole creation is as per her imagination, and the more heart melting part is she has explained the characters and preferences of every kid. She has explained the reason behind her creation as well. Along with design and talks, I could notice lots of problem-solving sessions happened as well.she did finger print , pasted stickers , stamps , cut and glue some shapes etc.
I love her imagination and work. It is always better to leave the child to work on themselves. We don’t need a picture perfect art/craft from a preschooler, but we can set up an ideal environment and let them explore, come up with their idea, solve their problems instead of guiding/redirecting all the time.
If I have directed her through the crafts it may turned as a more beautiful one , but at the end it’s not her imagination and I might have missed all those cute conversation as well.

Inviting play area setup for kids
Creating a play space by keeping the activities in an inviting manner helps the child to involve more in the activities. They shows more interest to explore the activities. This is how , i have created the play space for my daughter by keeping all the worksheets in a table.
