Nail and Hammer

Benefits

Materials needed

Thermocol , plastic nail or golf pin, wooden hammer

  • Provide Thermocol, plastic nails or Golf tees and wooden hammer.
  • Let the kid poke a hole, do some punching activity with hand and by using the hammer.

Cloth Pin activities

Age

From 24 months onwards

Materials needed

Cloth pins, Rope, Cardboard.

  • Tie a rope and Provide some cloth pins.
  • Let the kid figure it out and put the cloth pic one by one.

Cloth Pin activities

Materials needed

Cloth pins, Rope, Cardboard.

  • Provide cardboard and some cloth pins
  • Let the kid put the cloth pin in the corners of cardboard.

Cloth Pin color matching

  • Provide cardboard and some colored cloth pins. I have colored it using sketch pens. Will be great if colored cloth pins are available.
  • Let the kid do some color sorting activity.

Beads and Threading

Materials needed

Large beads, Lace, Pipe cleaner.

  • Provide large beads, pipe cleaner, and thread (Shoelace also works well).
  • As the kids have to use both hands simultaneously, Initially it’s little hard to do the threading. So let the kid do it with pipe cleaner as it is not much flexible as the rope.
  • Poke the pipe cleaners in a thermocol and let the kid arrange beads on each pipe cleaner.
  • Once they figured it out, kids can do it in thread easily.

Free Play

Benefits

Gross motor skill

Age

From 24 month onwards.

  • Tie both sides of two or three ropes at various heights.
  • Let the kid crawl through the high-level rope and leap over the lower level one slowly

Playing with ping pong balls

Benefits

Gross motor skill, Fine motor development.

Age

From 24 month onwards.

Materials needed

Cups, balls

  • Arrange a few cups at one end.
  • Keep a bowl of balls at the other end.
  • Ask the kid to transfer those balls into the cups one by one with a ladle.

Pretend Road Play

Fine motor development, Great Imaginary Skill development

Age

From 24 month onwards.

Materials needed

Cardboard, Markers, Cardboard Cutter, Road signs Printout, small cars.

  • Draw Road set up ( Parking, Signals, Bridge, Two-way road).
  • Let the kid do some pretend play using toy cars.

Pretend shopping

Benefits

Fine motor development, Great Imaginary Skill development, gross motor skill

Age

From 24 month onwards.

Materials needed

Cardboard, Cardboard Cutter, Real or toy vegetables and Fruits, Books, Toys, etc.

  • Make a road set up and keep every other item in each corner.
  • Go with the kid and explain to them about the process involved in shopping.
  • Selecting the items,
  • Entering the bill counter.
  • Pay money either by cash or card.
  • Put all the things in the bag.
  • Let the kid do pretend shopping and play on their own.
